Read time: 5 min
TLDR:
- This website is for my growth (and maybe yours), a place for my arts and a site to laugh about the life
- I will have Read Times and TLDRs at the beginning of each post
- **Edit** This website has grown and will now encompass my travels, mental health and eventually recipes
- Tracy’s Travel Adventures (where I’ve been so far) will be released on Thursdays (wherever I am in the world) and regular blog posts on Sundays
Hello and welcome to World of Wandering Minds!
I decided to start this website/blog to document my journey with ADHD and to (hopefully) inspire you to create your own world for your brain. For many years, I struggled with why I had challenges focusing or why I wasn’t as efficient as others. Even after I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 27, things made more sense, but I still struggled with the shame and frustration of having ADHD. For years I dreamed of all that I could do “if only I had a normal brain”. I was frustrated that no matter how hard I tried, I still felt that I wouldn’t be able to achieve what I wanted.
What I realised recently though is that we really can do anything we want to…we only need to approach it differently. What works for a conventional or “neurotypical brain” might just need some fine tune adjustments to work for us.
We can get our degree, we can travel the world. We can start our own company. Anything is possible.
Of course, I don’t have it all figured out…And to be honest, I don’t think I ever fully will. I still feel shame or get frustrated that I’m not focused enough, but I also know now that accepting and adapting to my brain’s natural tendencies (rather than forcing it to try to be normal) has made such a profound difference in my life.
What you can expect from my posts:
– Estimated read time: why? Because I love knowing how long an article will take before I decide to devote my valuable brain time to reading it
– TLDR…at the beginning because sometimes, I only have time for the summary and sometimes, you may only have that time too
– Blog post frequency: once weekly…for now 🙂
– Some humour, laughs and moments of “omg that’s so me!”
This website will change as time goes on and I get feedback from others. Please don’t hesitate to tell me your comments or send me an email as I do truly love learning together. I’ll do my best to respond within a few days where I can, but sometimes my travel plans or life might get in the way.
Now if I’ve piqued even a little bit of interest, feel free to join my mailing list for more blog posts in the future. Or not, no pressure…we all get a ton of emails and this journey is your own. 🙂
Oh and for those who don’t have ADHD, my blog might still be a place for you to learn some nuances that might work for you or your loved ones. Ask questions, be curious and and, most importantly, be you.
That’s it for now, but take care fellow Mind Wanderers!
Love,
T
